France trip cost from India
The full rupee stack for 5, 7 and 10 days — flights from Chennai and Bengaluru, hotels, food, transport, tickets, visa and insurance — at budget, mid and luxury.
Seven guides, in the order a France trip is actually decided: can I get the visa, what will it cost, when should I go, and what will I eat. Written for a traveller flying out of Tamil Nadu, priced in rupees.
In short
A France trip from India is decided in four steps: the Schengen visa (15.8% of Indian applications were refused in 2025), the budget (₹1.15–1.8 lakh for seven days at the budget end, ₹1.85–2.85 lakh mid-range), the month, and the food. These seven pages cover each one with dated figures.

Most Indian tour operator sites are built the other way round. You land on a package page, you see a price with an asterisk, and the questions that actually decide whether you go — will my visa come through, how much will this really cost once flights and the visa are in, is August a mistake — are answered in one line each inside a FAQ accordion, if at all.
Those questions are not a footnote. In 2025 Indians filed 1.15 million Schengen visa applications, the third-largest of any country in the world, and roughly 181,000 of them did not result in a visa. That is close to one in six families who paid the fee, took the day off, travelled to the visa centre and got nothing back but a refusal sheet. Collectively, Indian travellers lost about ₹1.36 billion on failed Schengen applications in 2024.
So the planning pages come first here, and they are the longest pages on the site. If you read only two of them, read the documents checklist and the cost breakdown. Between them they remove most of the reasons a France trip falls apart.
Each one is dated, each one shows its numbers in a table, and each one says plainly where the honest answer is inconvenient.
The full rupee stack for 5, 7 and 10 days — flights from Chennai and Bengaluru, hotels, food, transport, tickets, visa and insurance — at budget, mid and luxury.
The whole process from the France-Visas form to the passport landing back in your hand, written for someone applying through the Chennai centre.
Every document, what it has to show, and how much bank balance is actually enough. Printable, with the cover letter spelt out.
Why 15.8% of Indian applications fail, ranked, each with the specific fix — and what to do in the fortnight after a refusal.
Month by month, with the months that are bad value named as bad value rather than described as charming.
Passage Brady, Little Jaffna, pure-veg addresses, the honest answer about Jain food, and halal. The page no other operator has written.
A day-by-day week that a first-time Indian visitor can actually complete, with travel times and where you eat each evening.
There is no nonstop from Chennai, Coimbatore or Bengaluru. This compares every routing that exists, with what each costs in time and money.
Pick your travel window before anything else, because it sets the airfare, the hotel rate and the queue length at every monument. Indian enquiries peak December to February for the April–June season and April to May for the summer school holidays, which means the good hotel inventory in your band is gone before you start looking if you begin late.
A Schengen application needs a specific itinerary with accommodation and flight reservations against it. Vague plans are one of the recurring refusal reasons, so the itinerary is a visa document, not just a holiday decision. This is the point at which we issue the confirmed bookings your file needs.
Bank statements, ITR, employer letter, insurance with the EUR 30,000 minimum medical cover. Applications are accepted no earlier than six months before travel, so three months out is comfortably inside the window and leaves room to fix a problem.
For Tamil Nadu applicants that means the France centre in Chennai. Processing is commonly quoted at 15 to 30 days, and the legal floor is that the application must be filed at least five days before departure — a floor nobody sane goes anywhere near.
Only the applicant or an authorised person can collect the passport. Once the visa is in, air tickets are issued against the confirmed fare and the on-tour details — SIM, forex card, meal preferences, guide language — are finalised.
If your dates are the last week of July, the first half of August, or the week around Christmas and New Year, you are buying the same France at the worst price with the longest queues. If the dates are movable at all, moving them to late September or the first half of October typically buys you a better hotel and a shorter Louvre queue for the same money. We would rather say that before you pay than after.
Five to six months. The Schengen application can be filed no earlier than six months before travel and processing is commonly 15 to 30 days, so the visa itself needs about three months of runway. The hotel and airfare consequences of starting late are usually larger than the visa risk.
Not materially. The 15.8% refusal rate reported for Indian applicants in 2025 is a Schengen-wide figure against a 14.8% global average, not a France-specific one. What matters far more than the country is whether your financial documents, ties to India and itinerary are evidenced.
The one where you will spend the most nights. If the nights are equal, you apply to the country you enter first. Applying at the wrong consulate is a listed refusal reason, and a Paris-plus-Switzerland trip splits close enough that people get it wrong regularly. India filed 1.15 million Schengen applications in 2025 and a large share are exactly this shape.
Yes, and for two adults staying seven nights in Paris only, doing it yourself is usually ₹15,000 to ₹30,000 a head cheaper. The case for an operator is the visa file, the multi-city logistics and the meals — not the price. Our cost page sets both side by side.
Yes. The office is in Coimbatore and our strongest coverage is Tamil Nadu, but we book departures from Chennai, Bengaluru, Kochi, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Delhi. Tamil, English and Hindi are all spoken on the phone, 6 am to 11 pm every day.
Every planning page carries a review date at the top and a note saying what gets re-checked. Visa fees, the Chennai centre address and package bands are re-verified quarterly. Where a source is stale — the VFS India fee brochure is dated 13 May 2019 — we say so on the page rather than quoting it silently.
On the mid-range stack, four people for seven days lands around ₹7.4 lakh to ₹11.4 lakh all in, of which the visas alone are ₹42,000 to ₹48,000. Children under six pay no visa fee and six to eleven pay EUR 45 instead of EUR 90, which moves that line.
Yes, and it is not a formality. Schengen rules require medical cover of at least EUR 30,000 valid across the zone for the whole stay. Inadequate insurance is on every published list of refusal causes, and a policy that expires a day before your return flight is enough to fail the file.
Day-by-day itinerary, hotel list, an all-in figure in ₹ and a visa document check — on WhatsApp, from our Coimbatore office. Tamil, English or Hindi, 6 am to 11 pm.
