The 7-Day France Package: Five Nights in Paris, Two on the Riviera
The most-bought duration in the Indian market, built so that the week holds two bases instead of four and the seventh day is a holiday rather than a transfer.
In short
A 7N/8D France package costs ₹1,23,000 to ₹1,60,000 per person, twin sharing, land only. It covers five nights in Paris — with Versailles and one full day out — and two on the French Riviera. International airfare (₹55,000–85,000 return in season) and the EUR 90 Schengen fee are quoted separately.

Day by day
Day 1 — Arrive in Paris
Transfer to the hotel and nothing else. You will have flown overnight with a connection, because there is no nonstop to Paris from any South Indian airport. An early Indian dinner and an early night; the itinerary starts properly tomorrow. We do not sell a monument on day one and we would rather explain why than pad the brochure.
Day 2 — Eiffel Tower, Trocadéro, Seine
Pre-booked timed entry at the Eiffel Tower in the morning, the Trocadéro view afterwards, the afternoon along the river through the 7th, and an evening Seine cruise. This is the day the trip becomes real for most people, which is exactly why it is day two and not day four.
Day 3 — Louvre, Île de la Cité, Latin Quarter
The Louvre opens the day with a plan and a shortlist rather than an ambition to see everything. Afternoon on Île de la Cité and across into the Latin Quarter on foot. If there are parents in the group, this is the day we recommend the Tamil-speaking guide most strongly — it is a day of explanation, and explanation lands better in a first language.
Day 4 — Versailles
Out to the palace and gardens with a booked entry slot, back to the same Paris hotel at night. The most walking of the week, so the day after it is deliberately lighter. Give the gardens real time rather than treating them as the bit after the palace.
Day 5 — Your full day out
Mont Saint-Michel for most travellers — a genuine full day west of Paris, and the day people describe first when they get home. Disneyland Paris instead if there are children under twelve. Or, if the group cannot manage a long day out, Montmartre and northern Paris including the Tamil quarter around La Chapelle, which is the quiet third option and a good one.
Day 6 — High-speed rail south to Nice
Check out, take the TGV south. It is most of a morning, it is comfortable, and it delivers you to the Mediterranean in time for lunch. Afternoon on the Promenade and in the old town of Nice. The change of register in a single morning is what makes this a better week than seven nights in one city.
Day 7 — The Riviera
A full Riviera day: Nice itself, or a run along the coast to Cannes and Monaco, or a slow day doing very little, which after six days of monuments is a legitimate plan and one we will happily build.
Day 8 — Fly home from Nice
Nice has its own airport, which is the reason the route runs south rather than looping back. Flying home from here rather than returning to Paris saves a whole day of a short trip. Morning free depending on the departure, then the transfer.

Why five nights in Paris and not four
Because four nights makes you choose between Versailles and the Louvre, and nobody enjoys making that choice on a trip they saved for.
Run the arithmetic. Day one is an arrival day and it is gone — that is the cost of having no nonstop from South India. That leaves the Eiffel Tower and the Seine, the Louvre and the island, Versailles, and one full day out. Four items, four days, five nights. Take a night out and something has to go, and what usually goes is Versailles, because it is the one that requires a whole day and a train.
The other reason is pace. A first France trip with parents or children does not move at the speed a brochure assumes. Five nights in one hotel means five mornings that start without packing, which is a different holiday from four hotels in seven nights even when the list of sights is identical.
If you want more than this, the answer is more nights rather than more cities. A ten-night version of this trip is a genuinely better holiday than a seven-night version with Switzerland bolted on — and on the market bands, a 9- to 12-night Europe classic runs ₹1,65,000 to ₹3,05,000, so the step up is not as large as people assume.
Three ways we change this package
Swap the Riviera
- The Loire instead of Nice, for châteaux and countryside — best April to June and September to October
- Normandy instead, which pairs naturally with the Mont Saint-Michel day
- Both sit inside the same ₹1,23,000 – 1,60,000 band; the hotel category moves the price more than the region does
- In deep winter the countryside options thin out considerably, and we will tell you so rather than sell you a closed château
Change the pace
- Drop the day-5 long trip and spend it in Paris — the right change when parents over 70 are travelling
- Add a rest day by extending to eight or nine nights rather than compressing
- Lift access, ground-floor rooms and hotel location specified at booking, not hoped for
- Tamil-speaking guide booked for the Louvre and Versailles days only, which is where it earns its fee
Add to it
- Disneyland as the day-5 option, with park tickets priced separately on your dates
- Switzerland instead of the Riviera, which moves you to the ₹1,35,000 – 2,75,000 band and brings a visa consideration with it
- A Riviera extension to three or four nights, taking the trip to nine or ten nights
- A Paris apartment with a kitchen instead of a hotel, which for four travellers often costs less and solves the food question
Questions we answer daily
What does a 7 day France tour package cost from India?
₹1,23,000 to ₹1,60,000 per person on twin sharing, land only. International airfare is separate at ₹55,000 to ₹85,000 return in season or ₹35,000 to ₹50,000 off-season, and the Schengen visa fee of EUR 90 plus roughly ₹2,202 in VFS charges is also outside the band.
Is 7 days enough to see France?
Enough for Paris properly plus one second region, which is the right shape for a first trip. 5 nights in Paris covers the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Versailles and a full day out; two on the Riviera give the week a second character. It is not enough for France plus Switzerland plus Italy.
Does the price include flights?
No, and the band says so. Airfare is the most volatile line in the budget and quoting it inside a six-month-old package price would be guesswork. We quote it live on your dates and add it to the land price in front of you, including the positioning leg from Coimbatore, Madurai or Trichy. Budget ₹55,000 to ₹85,000 return in season and ₹35,000 to ₹50,000 off-season.
Can we do Disneyland instead of Mont Saint-Michel?
Yes — that is the standard day-5 alternative and it is the right choice with children under twelve. Park tickets are priced separately on your dates rather than folded into the band, because Disneyland Paris pricing varies by date and by whether you want one park or two.
Which months should we book this for?
April to June for the best conditions, or September to October for the same trip at better value with shorter queues. Avoid the last week of July and the first half of August, which are simultaneously the hottest, busiest and most expensive fortnight of the French year. Airfare alone swings from ₹35,000 to ₹50,000 off-season up to ₹85,000 in season.
Can you arrange vegetarian and Jain food on this tour?
Meal preferences go on the booking document per traveller and airline meal codes go on the ticket at issue. Jain-strict food is scarce as a restaurant category in Paris, so for Jain travellers we arrange meals with kitchens ahead of time and often recommend an apartment with a kitchen instead of a hotel room. Eating mostly Indian holds the weekly food line near ₹12,000 to ₹20,000.
How many people are on the tour?
These are private and small-group arrangements built around your booking rather than fixed coach departures, so the group is your group. That is why the day-5 choice, the hotel category and the pace are all yours to set — and why a family travelling with elderly parents can have a genuinely different week from a couple in their thirties.
When should we start the visa for a 7-day France trip?
Ten to twelve weeks before departure, which means starting the whole booking five to six months out. Applications are accepted from six months before travel, processing is commonly 15 to 30 days, and about one in six Indian Schengen applications is refused — so you want room for a second attempt without losing the trip.
